Avoca at Powerscourt

Once upon a time there was a Mill in the picturesque village of Avoca, County Wicklow. It was set up in 1723 as a co-operative where farmers could spin and weave their wool. Today, Avoca has grown into one of Ireland’s most loved brands producing signature throws and blankets, using natural yarns like lamb’s wool, cashmere, mohair and angora.

As well as weaving classic patterns, their design studio creates brand new ideas for throws, blankets and scarves season by season. To this day, they continue to hand weave at the original mill in Avoca village.

With stores across the country as well as charismatic cafés and food halls, Avoca has been ranked as one of the world’s most inspiring stores by Retail Week Magazine. Browse their incredible items during your stay at Avoca Powerscourt for a fantastic shopping experience. The Avoca store in Powerscourt House is full of character with original castle walls dating back to the 12th century.

The store offers the full range of Avoca favourites and gifts including fashion and kids-wear, books, soft furnishings, jewellery, aromatics and a scrumptious food hall. Enjoy locally sourced and seasonally cooked produce including the famous Avoca jams, cakes and home-made breads.
