German group say Guten Tag to Wicklow

Twelve decision-makers from leading German business tourism companies have been visiting Wicklow this week as guests of Tourism Ireland and Failte Ireland.

The group includes senior representatives of companies involved in the MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences and events) industry in Germany, who are responsible for organising international conferences, meetings and large-scale incentive events around the world for their clients.  They are here to discover more about the world-class facilities an accommodation on offer in Ireland, as well as the great experiences business delegates can enjoy here on the sidelines of their conference or meeting.

Their itinerary included lunch at the Powerscourt Hotel, followed by an afternoon of activities with Dynamic Events which is based in Blessington in the hotel grounds.  The activities included a hurling lesson and trying out the 'poc fada' which went down a treat.  The group also visited Brooklodge and Macreddin Village - where they enjoyed a special 'Harvest Tasting Dinner' in the Strawberry Tree restaurant and a 'Wild Foods Master Class' with top chef Evan Doyle.  They overnighted at Brooklodge.
