Wicklow is famous for it's babbling brooks and racing streams.  Guests at Powerscourt Hotel Resort & Spa can enjoy fishing in the magical setting of Tinnahinch, part of the historical estate once owned by the famous parliamentarian, Henry Grattan.  Whether you are an experienced angler or a novice, the team at Tinnahinch will provide everything you need, whether that be lessons, advice or equipment.

Horse Riding

Brennanstown Riding School is a family run business, started by former Three Day Event rider Jane Kennedy in the 1970's.  Located only a 10 minute drive from Powerscourt Hotel Resort & Spa, the riding school is recognized both locally and nationally as one of Ireland's most professionally run equestrian centres.

Jogging & Walking

Powerscourt Hotel Resort & Spa has created walking and jogging routes around the area to suit different fitness abilities and targets, while offering the best of scenery.  Ask our concierge for your map at the Guest Services desk.

Powerscourt Waterfall

At 398 feet, Powerscourt Waterfall is the highest in Ireland, cascading into an open parkland of specimen deciduous trees.  It is a favourite for family picnics and woodland walks along the riverbank.  Please note that entry fees apply.  For more information click here.

The River Walk

Powerscourt's River Walk is a magical woodland trail by the Dargle river, open to only a select few, including guests of Powerscourt Hotel Resort & Spa. Read more about the River Walk here.

4x4 Off-Roading Experience

A specially designed Off-Road course has been built at Powerscourt, taking advantage of the estate's remarkable woodland terrain, rugged granite hillsides and bogland.  This is a unique opportunity to explore your own driving skills and to experience the full potential of 4x4 vehicles, and is ideal for everything from a team-building event to a family outing.  Please note that the Off-Roading Experience is available for groups of 10 or more only, and bookings must be made with our Concierge prior to your arrival.


Where better to spend the day than trekking through the Wicklow mountains. Explore the area beloved by everyone, from locals to Hollywood film makers.  Hill-walking enthusiasts will be delighted with the choice of walks in the area, with guided tours an option as well.  Advance bookings are recommended and can be made with our Concierge.

Ballyknocken House

Ballyknocken House is home to one of Ireland's best-known chefs, Catherine Fulvio.  From here she runs the Ballyknocken Cookery School which has proved highly successful with scheduled classes offering a variety of themes, as well as private classes for team building and group activities.

Cookery team building offers an entertaining option which breaks down barriers and provides a fun and informal option for modern companies.  All events are tailor made to ensure that each individual group get the results they want from their team building day.
